Book Review
Title- Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters
Author- Rick Riodan
Publishers-Puffinbooks
Number of Pages- 264
Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is a fantastic thriller from the pen of the author Rick Riordan. This is the second book of the series.Though it is very much like Harry Potter books, it is, at the same time, very different from it.Wherever our Hero Percy goes, trouble awaits him. Being the sun of one of the most powerful Greek gods Poseidon, he can go nowhere without calling for cannibals, monsters and a whole lot of magical creatures-GOOD and BAD.
The story starts with Camp Half Blood being destroyed by evil monsters. It is now Percy's and his friends task to save it from further damages. The main characters are of course Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Tyson, Chiron, Luke etc.Percy encounters many challenges on his way to The sea of monsters to retrieve the Golden Fleece(which has divine properties) to cure the camp.It is a great book for fantasy lovers. Though it has to be read only after reading its predecessor, we may be able to understand the book.I am looking forward to reading more of the series.
