The Invention Of Hugo Cabret is a wonderful novel written by Brian Selznick. The book even though big is really simple to read. The main characters of the book are Hugo, Isabelle, George Melies, and Mama Jeanne.

The book can be called a comic, a novel, a graphic novel, a picture book and even a combination of all these. But to keep it simple I call it a 'Book with pictures and words'. As the name tells us its about a wonderful invention of Hugo. The book is actually about an automaton which Hugo's father found in the attic of a museum which they both tried to fix. After his father's death, Hugo was taken care by his uncle who taught him to steal and fix clocks. After that he started stealing from a toy shop in the railway station to fix the automaton. He meets a girl named Isabelle when he was caught by the shopkeeper George Melies. They both become friends and they fix the automaton which draws a picture of a famous movie and signs it using the name of George Melies. Then they both try to find out the relation between movies and Papa George as Isabelle used to call him. And in the end.........Why should I be a suspense spoiler? It's more fun when reading the book yourself and knowing the entire thing. And this book is really simple to read as more than three hundred pages are taken up by the pictures and the number of words in a page is really less. A movie adaptation of the book is also there named Hugo. SO read this book to get answers to the questions in your mind about the books and also to get to know how exciting it is to read books with pictures.
