Not Quite Dead Yet
Holly Jackson
I absolutely loved this book, like 5/5 without even thinking twice. It’s honestly one of the most heart wrenching books I’ve ever read. I sobbed hard while reading this.
The story itself is really powerful but what made it even better for me were the characters. The main character JET (aka Margaret Mason) felt so real and I got really attached to them. You can actually feel what they’re going through, and that’s what made everything hit harder. Even the side characters weren’t just there for the sake of being there but they all also had their own importance and added so much to the story.
Although this is a thriller book where Jet was attack by someone on the Halloween night they don't know who it was, and she was hit in the head so she only had 7 days to live, so she decided that she would find her murderer by herself. Her childhood friend BILLY also played a huge roll in finding Jet's murderer.
I think what I loved the most is how the book makes you feel everything so deeply and connected (the sadness, hope, confusion and all). It’s not just a story you read and forget, it actually STAYS with you (atleast for me it's like that)
Overall, this book completely broke me (in the best way possible), and I’d always recommend it.
And lastly I LOVE and hate HOLLY JACKSON at the same time!!(You know what I mean if you have read her books)
