Eldest is the second book in the Inheritance Cycle written by the author Christopher Paolini. The protagonists of the story are Eragon Shadeslayer, Saphira Brightscales, Arya Drottingu, Oromis ebrithil and Glaedr-elda. The book continues the tale of Eragon and Saphira against Galbatorix from the first book in the series- Eragon. The story starts after three days of the battle under Farthen Dur. The book starts with the leader of the varden- a secret society against Galbotorix- Ajihad killed in a short battle. Nassuada, the daughter of Ajihad, gets elected as the Varden's leader and they move to an independent country Surda. Meanwhile Eragon goes to Ellesmera- the land of the elves- to complete his training as a Dragon Rider. At the same time, Eragon's cousin, Roran goes through his own battle to save his love and village who finally decides it's better to join the varden. In Ellesmera, Eragon meets another Rider Oromis who helps him in completing his training. And in a celebration of the elves called the Agaeti Blodhren, Eragon is gifted the physical and mental powers of the elves by the dragons. The book ends in the Battle of the Burning Plains where Eragon fights with another Rider who turns out to be his old friend Murtagh and his Dragon Thorn who reveals Eragon's parentage. This book is really interesting and I hope that even you would love reading this book.
