Really??, that’s great!!,wow!, that’s awesome!!...were our reactions when we came to know that we were one of the three schools all over India which had won the classroom of the year contest conducted by the company of the book lovers program for schools in collaboration with the Student Edition of The Hindu.
We were assured certificates; mementos. But the trip to Chennai came to be an additional delight. And we enjoyed it to the fullest.
We started our journey on 28th from Kanjikode Station and reached Chennai by late-night. We were given a stay in a hotel situated along the Mount Road. We were tired and so couldn’t explore the place then, but we made up for it the next morning.
The sun shone up bright in the metro city as we got into our cabs which were going to take us to the BLPS program which was to be hosted in the in skirts of the IIT Chennai.
We saw several stunning monuments and other tourist attractions that caught the eye. The first one was the marina beach. As soon as we saw it we had the urge to just run to it and roll in the water but we couldn't do it then. Rugimini Mam allowed us to do it later when we returned that evening. On our way we saw a huge stunning building that looked more beautiful than the coliseum in Rome. But we were sad to hear that its construction had been stopped due to political reasons. After about half an hour, we reached IIT Chennai. Of the 628 acres of land that it occupies, 85% was entirely wildlife and greenery and the buildings were housed in only 15% of the land. The area was peaceful and refreshing and we realized IITians really needed that.
We got inside an enormous building and got to the conference hall. What happened at the IIT will be briefed to you by Shweta. The next day was the prize distribution ceremony which was held at The Hindu Office . Navya will enrich you about the wonderful experience that we had at the Hindu office.
The trip to Chennai seemed like the perfect gift for what we had done. We could have stayed there forever but all great things have to finally end the same way as our Great Trip did.
