The Boyfriend is a psychological thriller written by Freida McFadden.

Sydney has terrible luck with dating. She has dated many – but still hasn’t found a partner or someone she likes, until she meets a guy whom she calls the mystery man, who had saved her before. But she couldn’t find him ever again.  And when her best friend gets murdered by who she thinks is her best friend’s boyfriend, she decides not to date or think of dating for a while.

But when she meets the mystery man again, after 2 months, they start dating. But something felt wrong – his job is cutting up dead bodies, his eyes widen in excitement whenever he sees blood and he absolutely shivers on the sight of Sydney’s apartment building. He was hiding something, hiding who he really is.

The book was very good and it was very interesting. The twists were exciting as well and very unexpected. The story being told between two different timelines and perspective made it much more suspenseful. Overall, I liked this book and I recommend this book to those who love thrillers and Freida McFadden books.
