ONE NIGHT @ THE CALL CENTER
Well
before reviewing this book I would like to say about the source from where I
got this book. Before the vacation I heard Nirupam saying some good comments
about this book, after hearing this I asked him whether he had any copy of this
book so that I could borrow his book for reading during the vacation. Luckily
he had one and he gave it to me for reading. Well that’s how I got this book
and let’s continue with the same book review topic.
One
night @ the call center was written by the writer Chetan Bhagat. The book was
printed in India by Nutech Photo lithographers. It was published by Rupa
Publications India Private Limited. He dedicated this book to his twin sons and
his wife who helped him to create this book with little bit of help from him
too. The book contains about 268 pages. The book contains 30 chapters including
the prologue and epilogue. The book’s cover page contains different accessories
which are available in a call center and is printed with blue colour. The book
costs 140 rupees.
In
the winter of 2004, a writer met a young beautiful girl in a night train from
Kanpur to Delhi. In order to pass their time the girl offered to tell a story
in one condition that he should make it into his second book. After hesitation
as he promised the girl he would do it she started telling him the story. The
story was about or rather I would say that the book was about six people, 3
guys and 3 girls working in a call center named ‘connexions’. They were Shyam,
Military Uncle, Radhika, Esha, Vroom, and Priyanka. All of them had different
problems like Shyam wanted to be the group leader, Military uncle wanted to
stay with his grandson and his son etc. All of them had their own problems and
common among them was their manager Bakshi. All of them attend calls dealing
with problems related with their own home appliances. On a usual working night
day they all go for a car ride and as it was rainy outside they along with
their company Qualis car fell into a construction pit. As they were about fall
deeper inside the pit they got a phone call from god. The voice from the call
said many important things which were needed in man’s day to day life.
The
reason why I loved reading this book is that this novel not only depicts the
basic problems of a man but it also gives an idea about to face the problem
without fear. This novel gave me confidence to face any problem without backing
up.
Well
then, I request all of you to go through this amazing contemporary novel of
Chetan Bhagat at least once.
