The giraffe and the pelly and me is an another interesting book of Roald Dahl, the most child loving novelist in this century and a British who had made the children awoke to the world of English literature with his works Charlie and the chocolate factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Esio Trot, George's Marvelous medicine and much more. The story is simple and presented in a humorous, child loving way as in his every books. The main characters of this book are Billy, Monkey, Giraffe, Pelican ( Pelly) and Duke of Hampshire. The story revolves around Billy, a small boy who always wanted a chocolate shop to be run in his neighborhood empty building. The next day he finds some changes in the building and talks with the glass cleaners (the giraffe the monkey and the pelly) and finds them interesting and gifted. Suddenly they gets orders to clean the glasses of the Duke of Hanpshire's house and they set the wheels in motion. While they were cleaning a window they spots a thief stealing something very expensive and armored with a revolver. From here the story turns humorous, with their special skills they hands over the thief to the police and the Duke becomes happy and grants their wishes. There are also illustrations which make the reader to understand more easily and those illustrations are hilarious and are made by his companion, Quentin Blake. I suggest this book to the infants to 7th class students because the language in this book is very simple and this book can be read more quickly.I think you are also eager to know how the story turns humorous and how hey traps the thief and their wishes. So you read it and find out and I hope you will also be inspired with his works and keep reading his books just like everybody who had read his book!!!!
