The Adventures Of Tintin The Secret Of The Unicorn is the eleventh book in the Tintin comic series by the Belgian Cartoonist Herge. This is the first of a two part adventure of seeking out a treasure.
The protagonists of the book are Tintin, Snowy and Captain Haddock. Captain Haddock's ancestor Sir Francis Haddock owned a ship named the Unicorn. And as the name suggests the Unicorn held a big secret. Just like any other day while Tintin was strolling through the market he finds a model of The Unicorn and buys it for the Captain. When troubled for the ship by some people he refuses and goes to Haddock. There he is astonished to find a portrait of the ship that he bought and the Captain narrates the story of how Sir Francis Haddock lost his ship and how Red Rackham was killed. The part where he narrates the story is really wonderful and funny. Tintin finds a scroll in the mast of the model ship and tries to find its other two twins to complete the riddle that he found in the scroll. In the end the scrolls are found and he and the Captain sets out to find the treasure which can only be read in Red Rackham's Tresure. The book is really simple to understand and I felt that it contained a little more mystery than the other books. A movie adaptaion of the book is also there. So grab this book to get a glimpse at quest for treasure!
