The Emperor's Ring is the first book of 'The Adventures Of Feluda' series written by the famous filmmaker, illustrater, publisher, calligrapher, graphic designer, producer, lyricist, musician, screen writer, fiction writer and film critic Satyajit Ray. He was born in Calcutta in 1921 and died in 1972.His films are all blockbusters. He was awarded Bharat Ratna in 1992.
The protagonists of this book are Feluda, Tapesh Mitter, Dhiru Kaka, Bobihari Babu and Srivastav. Tapesh along with his father and Feluda decide to go on a trip to Lucknow to see a friend of Tapesh's father named Dhiru Kaka. They are inspired by Bhoolbhulaiya(a maze) in Baba Imambra, Lucknow. In Dhiru Kaka's house, a man named Srivastav comes to see him. He is worried that his precious ring which was gifted to him by Pyarelal Seth would be stolen. The ring was previously owned by Emperor Aurangazeb. He gives the ring to Dhiru and requests him to keep it safe in his house. But the ring is stolen soon. The story gets deeper with every page after it. We will be in a confusion that who would have stolen it, untill it is revealed. The plot gets thicker with the climax in Laxmanjhula. The climax of the book is very surprising. I liked the author's way of continuing the story in a very suspense way.
