WAYS TO MAKE YOUR READING HABIT CONSISTENT

Maintaining a regular reading habit can be difficult, but with the right approach, you can make it part of your daily life. This article offers simple and effective tips to help you read more consistently, from setting achievable goals to creating a space that encourages reading. Whether you're trying to get back into reading or just want to read more often, these strategies will help you stay on track.

Make a To Be Read (TBH) list :
Always make sure that you have a list of books that you would like to read. You can either do this on a monthly basis like an October TBH or just make a list of books that you would like to read. This will help you to always have an aim in  your reading habit. But you have to make sure that your TBH list is also realistic. 

Make sure that you have a regular time for reading:
During the weekdays all of us will mostly have a regular routine so it is best to have a regular and fixed time for reading. For me it is a minimum of 20 minutes before I go to bed. This does not mean that you should only read at that specific time or only for 20 minutes. This is totally up to our comfortability. 

Make sure that you have an aim to read everyday:
Rather than reading a lot of books it is best to read even a few pages everyday. So if the previous method is not working for you, you can make daily goals where you decide to read a minimum number of pages. For example, you can read atleast 15-20 pages everyday.

Maintain a reading diary:
You can take a simple notebook and record your reading experiences. It is not necessary that you do this on a daily basis. If you have completed reading a book, you can write when you started reading that particular book and when you have completed reading it. You can also rate that book on 5 stars. You can also write your review and experience on reading that book. A reading diary is not just for books. If you read something interesting in the newspaper or magazine or somewhere else you can write about it too.

Make sure to complete reading a book:
If you have started reading a book, try to complete reading it even if you find it boring or not engaging. You can feel demotivated to read but then the consistency will be lost. Try to complete the book gradually because maybe you`ll like the ending.

In summary, building a regular reading habit takes some effort, but it’s worth it. By setting goals, choosing books you enjoy, and making time to read every day, you can make reading a natural part of your routine. With a little persistence, you’ll soon see the positive impact it can have on your life.
