The author, Sudha Murty had written this book by the inspiration of a simple incident. She dedicated this book to Noomi ( her granddaughter Anoushka).
Noomi is a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya Bangalore in 7th standard in the story. She is thinking of plans for the summer vacation. She thought of going to Somanahalli - the village of her father. She finds more and more adventures there. She had found the historical monument that describes the history of that village a hundred years ago. How?
This story is all about her adventures at Somanahalli. She finds new friends there - Amit, Mesh, Anand. She is very interested in exploring.
I liked this book very much. I was more eager to read this book because in the starting of the story, there was a description of Nooni's (Anoushka's) lifestyle. When I read she belonged to Kendriya Vidyalaya, I was more eager. The school she belonged to had nothing to do with the story. Anyway I liked the story very much.
The village level of Nooni with Ajji, Ajja, Mahadevan, Amit, Medha, and Anand was very interesting. Nooni's anxiety to learn about medicinal herbs is also very interesting.
How did she broke the secret of the past of Somanahalli? Read this book to find out.
