Matilda by Roald Dahl

Matilda

Author: Roald Dahl
Publisher: Penguin

'Matilda', written by Roald Dahl, is an exiting book about a young girl called Matilda. The story tells us how this small girl - Matilda starts to read at the age of 'three'. She shows a love for reading and joins the public library which is only a little far from her house. She goes there as well as returns home all on her own. This is because her brother goes to school , her father goes to work in his garage whereas her mother goes to play bingo. Thus she is alone at home the whole day. The librarian, a kind lady, also helps her in reading a lot of books and choosing them. But to her surprise , Matilda finishes the whole stock of children's books in a few months time and gradually starts reading adults novels. Then gradually her parents send her to school where she finds all the goodness as well as patience in her class teacher- Ms.Honey. But Matilda and the other students in the school do not have a very exiting time with their principal Ms.Trunchbull.

Thus goes on the story of Matilda. Roald Dahl writs this story in a very interesting way with a lot of new words added in his stories. I liked all the books that I have read, written by Roald Dahl but ' Matilda' was the best.
